The 95th Academy Awards are slated to be held on 12th March, 2023, at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, USA. Jimmy Kimmel will host this year’s Oscar Awards ceremony, and we hope the event goes off without any controversies like last year’s ‘slapgate’ incident.
The Academy announced the film nominations for this year’s Oscars. Academy Award winner Riz Ahmed, and M3GAN star Allison Williams hosted this year’s nominations announcement ceremony. The chart buster number ‘Naatu Naatu‘ from RRR has made India proud at the Oscars nominations. The song has won a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Let’s hope the foot-tapping song wins at the final ceremony too.
Shaunak Sen’s universally applauded documentary feature film ‘All That Breathes‘ kept the Indian flag flying high at the Oscars 2023 noms. The film has made it to the final nominations for Best Documentary Feature. Likewise for Netflix India’s ‘The Elephant Whisperers’, which has been nominated in the Documentary Short Film category.
Everything Everywhere All At Once leads the Oscars nominations list with 11 noms in all. Surprisingly, Netflix’s ‘All Quiet On The Western Front’ has tied with the buzzy ‘The Banshees Of Inisherin’ to score the second highest nominations, with 9 noms each. Elvis, TÁR, Top Gun: Maverick, The Fabelmans raked in commendable nominations too. Michelle Yeoh won her first ever Academy Awards nomination for EEAAO. Paul Mescal won his first Oscar nomination for Aftersun.
