“OTT is too explicit.”
This statement is coming from once popular but lately forgotten actress Nargis Fakhri. She played Heer in Imtiaz Ali’s masterpiece Rockstar back in 2011. She has since then appeared in a few important films.
Just days after Ameesha Patel alleged OTT to be too full of homosexuality, gayism, and lesbianism, we have another attack directed at OTT content.
Nargis Fakhri is unhappy about the explicit content that is available on OTT. Although she doesn’t claim to have any problem with nudity, she says she can never be comfortable with nude scenes as an actress.
Regardless, the important point is, the content being served on OTT. Shows like Rana Naidu have unnecessary nudity and curse words which did not contribute anything whatsoever to the overall story.
If there are shows like Mirzapur, then we can understand the need for adult scenes as they are necessary ingredients of the show. But, such things must be avoided where they can be.
When industry insiders themselves are uncomfortable with the kind of content being served, then, let alone traditional families.
What do you think about that? Should OTT trim down explicit scenes, as there is already pressure from the government to bring OTT under censorship?
