Red alert from a siren! This February, Kollywood will have 2 highly anticipated films on screens: Lal Salaam and Siren. While we await their theatrical release, people have been expecting their OTT release too.
‘Lal Salaam’, a sports drama featuring Vikranth and Vishnu Vishal in lead roles, with Superstar Rajnikanth in a cameo appearance, is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on February 9, 2024 worldwide. Its trailer was released yesterday, and fans are building up a huge expectation for this film.
Directed by Aishwarya Rajnikanth and produced by Subaskara Allirajah of Lyca Productions, the narrative shows a potpourri of sports and religious harmony, addressing a social message for people. Apart from the supporting cast of Jeevitha, KS Ravikumar, and Thambi Ramaiah, Rajnikanth and Kapil Dev will also make cameo appearances. There is a buzz going around that ‘Lal Salaam’ will allegedly be streaming on Netflix, and the OTT release date is not yet known.
On the other end, ‘Siren,’ starring Jayam Ravi and Keerthy Suresh in lead roles, is scheduled for a theatrical release on February 16, 2024. Directed by Anthony Bhagyaraj, the film unveiled its teaser last November, hinting at its storyline. It is said that Jayam Ravi portrays a convict serving his prison time for murder, and Keerthy Suresh takes the role of a cop.
This action-packed emotional drama also features Anupama Parameshwaran, Samuthirakani, Yogi Babu in significant roles, with GV Prakash Kumar as the music composer. As per the reports, it is confirmed that ‘Siren’ will digitally debut on Disney+ Hotstar, probably after 60 days of theatrical release.
That being said, it can be confirmed that this February is filled with love… for movie enthusiasts!
