Tamil action thriller ‘Raangi‘ will be one of the last films of the year. Set to release on Dec 30, the film will star Trisha in the lead role. And as per the latest reports, the film’s post-theatrical streaming rights have been acquired by Sun NXT.
The official synopsis of ‘Raangi’ reads” Thaiyal Nayagi, an online channel reporter, finds a Facebook account of her niece. She encounters a 17-year-old boy Aalim from Libya is chatting with her on that account. The FBI on the other hand wants to bring Aalim under their custody using Thaiyal Nayagi and her niece as bait.”
The movie will be Trisha’s subsequent release after the blockbuster ‘Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1’. The actress’s portrayal of the princess of the empire Kundavai Ilaiya Piratti was met with praise from the audience and critics alike. After watching the actress as graceful royal beauty, fans are intrigued to see her portray a feisty channel reporter in an action-packed role. Besides Trisha, the movie will also feature Malayalam actress Anaswara Rajan(Super Saranya, Thaneermathan Dinangal) in a prominent role.
‘Raangi’ is being directed by M. Saravanan and will be bankrolled by her ‘PS-1’ producer Allirajah Subaskaran under the banner of Lyca Productions. The film’s music was composed by C Sathya, while cinematography and editing are handled by K. A. Sakthivel and M Subarak respectively. The satellite rights of the film are also bagged by Sun TV which suggests that the media group had acquired the broadcasting and digital rights as a bundle.
Besides ‘Raangi’ and the already announced ‘Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2’, Trisha is also set to appear in big ventures like ‘Sathuranga Vettai 2’ opposite Aravind Swami and Mohanlal’s ‘Ram: Part 1’ next year. The film has certainly intrigued fans who are excited to see the actress end 2022 with another successful film.
