Arsenal Football Club has been under fire for many reasons – club decline, fan abuse, owners who don’t care, lack of results on the pitch, bad word-of-mouth off the pitch – you name it. The Premier Club tried to copy their London rivals, Tottenham Hotspurs, by signing up to be the next football club to be featured on the “All or Nothing” Documentary series. However, with their extremely bad start to the season, the club’s PR team has decided to remove the first few games from the Amazon Prime series. What’s even worse, former World Cup Winner, ex-Arsenal playmaker, Mesut Ozil is ready to spill the beans in a tell-all series about his tumultuous time at the Emirates (Emirates is the home ground of Arsenal).
Now, many of you guys should know Mesut Ozil. While the player has been on the decline for a few years now, he was, at one point in time, the best playmakers in the world – providing assists to World Class footballers Cristiano Ronaldo and Miroslav Klose. He joined Arsenal in September 2013 and left them in January of this year. While the German did made his mark in the English club, he has been having a hard time playing at Arsenal since 2017. And one of the few reasons why he wanted to leave the club was because of how he was treated by both the executives at Arsenal and the current coach.
With the Amazon Prime Video series, ‘All or Nothing’, currently in limbo, we have a feeling that this upcoming Mesut Ozil documentary series could damage Arsenal’s reputation even more (than it already has). While Arsenal will want this Prime Video series to go in their favour for better international marketability and PR; Amazon Prime themselves will likely drop the project from their side, if the club continues to take liberties with the streaming conglomerate. And since the season for the Premiere Clubs is only 3 weeks in, we wouldn’t be surprised if Amazon Prime themselves will be looking to jump ship – onto another Premier League Club.
