Promising Telugu hero, Vishwak Sen‘s Paagal has been released in theaters today as an Independence day special. The movie has got decent openings but the mouth talk and the initial reviews are not so promising. The music and trailer of the film worked big time and that has resulted in good openings for the movie.
Incidentally, Paagal was supposed to be direct to OTT release, we are told. The movie has got a fancy offer from Amazon Prime Video to skip its theatrical release in the middle of the COVID second wave. But then, the lead hero of the film, Vishwak Sen is so confident of the film’s success and insisted on theatrical release only.
The first-weekend performance of the film will decide if the decision is going to be costly for the makers. Directed by a newcomer Naresh Kuppili, the movie is the story of a young man who is after every girl in the town in the name of love. He is after 1,600 girls until he finds his real love. But when it happens, the love story takes dramatic twists.
Meanwhile, the Telugu film industry is still waiting for its first genuine hit in theaters after the second wave.
