Priyanka Chopra Jonas has announced the release date for her production venture ‘Paani’. The movie is produced by the actress and her mother Madhu Chopra under the banner of Purple Pebble Pictures.
‘Paani’ is a Marathi film and it deals with environmental issues. The movie was completed long ago and it got the National Award for ‘best film on environment conservation/preservation’ in 2019 itself. The reason behind this delay in release is not known yet. The movie will finally hit the theaters on the 18th of October.
‘Paani’ marks the directorial debut of Addinath M. Kothare. Kothare also stars in the film. The other actors in the movie are Rucha Vaidya, Subodh Bhave, Rajit Kapur, Kishor Kadam, Sachin Goswami, Mohanabai, Shripad Joshi, Vikas Pandurang Patil etc.
The movie will tell the story of a man who lives in a village that is suffering from drought for a long time. He tries to eradicate the water problem of the village and faces many problems from local goons and others with evil intent.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas has previously produced three other Marathi movies that are Ventilator, Kay Re Rascalaa, and Firebrand. It has been long since we saw her in an Indian movie and hopefully she will be returning for a deserving role soon.
Watch ‘Paani’ in theaters from the 18th of October this year.
