Reportedly, Parambrata Chattopadhyay‘s next directorial venture will feature actor Ritwick Chakroborty as the lead. Parambrata Chattopadhyay is known for his acting prowess in various Hindi and Bengali films. He is often praised for his performances in ‘Kahaani’, ‘Bulbbul’, ‘Kadambari’, ‘Proloy’, ‘Teen Yaari Katha’, ‘Traffick’ and many more. But apart from being a wonderful actor, he is a director too. He has helmed movies like ‘Shonar Pahar’, ‘Bony’, ‘Boudi Canteen’, ‘Lorai’ and more. His recent biopic of Soumitra Chatterjee named ‘Abhijaan’ gathered huge admiration from critics and audiences.
Ritwick Chakroborty, on the other hand, is another stalwart in the Bengali film industry and there are few like him who can pull off any role with conviction. Ritwick and Parambrata have frequently collaborated with each other in films like ‘Apur Panchali’, ‘Chalo Let’s Go’ etc. They were last seen together in the controversial ‘Shabash Feluda: Gangtok Gondogol’, where Parambrata played the detective Feluda.
The project will be produced by Aritra Sen under the banner of Roadshow Films. Parambrata himself will serve as one of the producers. It is not clear whether the project will be a film or a web series. The theme, subject, plot, too is not revealed.
Parambrata will next be seen in Koushik Ganguly’s ‘Asukh Bisukh’, in which Bollywood actress Sayani Gupta will be making her bengali debut with this. Ritwick will next be seen in a mystery thriller directed by Joydeep Mukherjee. Parambrata has shared his excitent on the possibility of him directing such a fine actor like Ritwick.
