Paramount+ released the first official trailer for “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” and it’s firing all cylinders. The show trek fans have actually been waiting for debuts on Paramount+ in the month of May.
The series follows Captain Christopher Pike and the USS Enterprise crew in a time frame, around ten years before the original “Star Trek” series time frame. The new series is slated to premiere exclusively on Paramount+ in the US, Latin America, Australia on May 5. Following the premiere, fresh episodes of the 10 part series will be available weekly on Thursdays in the US.
The series stars Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn plays Number One, and Ethan Peck donnes the role of Science Officer Spock. Jess Bush (Nurse Christine Chapel) , Christina Chong (La’an Noonien-Singh) , Celia Rose Gooding (Cadet Nyota Uhura), Melissa Navia (Lt. Erica Ortegas and Babs Olusanmokun) as Dr. M’Benga form the rest of the cast while also featuring recurring guest star in Bruce Horak who plays Hemmer.
The series premiere is written by Akiva Goldsman. The story is written by Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet who also act as executive producers. Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers serve as the co-showrunners. Goldsman is also attached to direct the premiere episode. The series is bankrolled by CBS Studios, Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. Even before the season one premiere, the series has been renewed for a season two. Watch the trailer:
