Do you know the contents offered by Paramount+? Of course, you know, even if you don’t realise that.
Stuff like Halo, Mayor of Kingstown, Star Trek etc that are popular even in India are actually originals from Paramount+.
Binged informed its readers how the potential merger of Paramount Global and Skydance Media couldn’t be carried forward. So what will Paramount Global do? They are going after potential multiple long-term streaming partners to form a bond. Because they are in terrible need to do so.
So what did Paramount Global do after going with its first partner Paramount+?
Paramount Global is set to increase the prices of most Paramount+ plans later this summer, to boost its streaming business. The ad-free Paramount+ With Showtime plan will rise by $1 to $12.99 per month, and the Paramount+ Essential plan, which includes ads, will go up by $2 to $7.99 per month for new subscribers starting August 20. Current Paramount+ With Showtime subscribers will see the new price on their billing date on or after September 20. However, existing monthly subscribers to Paramount+ Essential will keep paying the current rate of $5.99. Annual subscription prices for both tiers remain unchanged.
Despite the increase, the new price of Paramount+ With Showtime remains lower than the ad-free versions of Netflix, Disney+, and Max.
The integrated Paramount+ With Showtime service launched in June 2023.
After this information, will there be an impact in India?
No. All the Paramount+ content is distributed between JioCinema and Amazon Prime Video. The partnership remains the way it is and there would be no effect on the Indian pricing whatsoever.
