The upcoming movie of the critically acclaimed director Park Chan-Wook’s new Cannes competition title “Decision to leave” is decided to stream on Mubi. The streamer platform Mubi had been hitting the news for acquiring art movies for the past few months and unlike other OTT platforms had become the hub of critically acclaimed movies. The movie will be streaming in multiple countries like North America, UK, Ireland, Turkey, and India but the streaming date is yet to be announced.
Decision to Leave will be a Korean language mystery thriller written and directed by Park Chan-Wook. The movie will also feature Tang Wei, Go Kyung-Pyo, Park Hae-il and other actors in the major roles of the movie.
The movie will tell the story of an investigation of a man who died by falling from a mountain peak. And then the police officer who is assigned to investigate the case Hae-Joon, meets the dead man’s wife Seo-rae. And eventually she becomes the suspect of the case. But things will take a sharp turn when the officer feels attracted towards her.
This movie will mark the fourth time of Park Chan-Wook’s movie, which is screening at the Cannes film festival. Previously his movies Oldboy (2003), Thirst (2009), and The Handmaiden (2016) had won the Grand prix at the Cannes which makes Decision to Leave the most anticipated movie in the festival.
The movie’s theatrical release date is also yet not announced, but it has been decided the movie will hit the theatres in the fall of 2022.
