‘Patalghar’ is adapted from Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay’s best selling children’s novel of the same name and directed by Abhjjit Chowdhury. Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay’s stories are a genre of their own and are liked by adults as well as children. Patalghar is no exception, it is a sweet and nostalgic tale told with much passion. Patalghar stars actors like Soumitra Chattopadhyay, Joy Sengupta, Biplab Chatterjee, Kharaj Mukherjee, Ketaki Dutta and many more. The wonderful music for the film is given by Debojyoti Mishra and the cinematography is handled by Abhik Mukhopadhyay.
‘Patalghar’ had its theatrical release on the 21st of February in 2003 and got impressive response from audiences. The movie tells the story of a scientist who had invented a sleep generating machine long ago. When people got to know about this, many different parties want to acquire the machine due to various reasons. Some want it for their personal gain while some want to take it and use it as a weapon in warfare. A rich lady who likes to pose as a self proclaimed queen gets interested in the machine and wants it at any costs. When a little boy is named the heir of the machine he has to carry the Legacy of the scientist and simultaneously save himself and the machine from the goons.
Patalghar is a pure fantasy and it is the perfect example of a feel-good movie. The weird characters in the film will make you laugh throughout the movie. You can watch the film for free on Zee5.
