Remember when Pahlaj Nihalani was the CBFC Chief? Almost the whole of Bollywood was troubled by his way of censoring films because he would ask for changes that would suck the juice out of the film.
After a lot of rage from film industry and public alike, Nihalani was replaced by Prasoon Joshi. Things are going very smoothly but something’s not good at this point.
We can see some very unjustifiable demands from CBFC for Shahrukh Khan’s upcoming Pathaan. There is a chart of changes demanded from CBFC and it simply doesn’t make sense.
What is the sense of replacing the word scotch with drinks? Or Sanvidhan with Vagairah?
We doubt if they will serve any purpose other than troubling the filmmakers. Also, CBFC assumes that the public is so innocent and unaware of drinks such as scotch that they would be spoiled by the mention of it. Now, how funny does that sound?
Regardless, the main thing we want you to inform about is the YRF Spyverse. Yes, it is 100% happening and the changes suggested by CBFC put a stamp on the same.
The CBFC change chart mentions Colonel Luthra. If you remember then this character was played by Ashutosh Rana in the Hrithik Roshan led War.
The movie was the last 300 crores grossing film from Bollywood and was an insane success, to say the least. So, YRF Spyverse is sure to connect War with Pathaan. Maybe the Tiger series is next to follow but we’ll have to wait for the theatrical release of Pathaan.
Any cameo by Hrithik Roshan or especially Salman Khan would be fiery for the audience and a sure-shot blockbuster. But as of now, the best we can do is wait.
