‘Besharam Rang’, the first song from the hugely anticipated Pathaan is finally out. The song is composed by Vishal – Sheykhar, and sung in a sensuously husky voice by Shilpa Rao and Caralisa Monteiro. Colourful and cheery, ‘Besharam Rang’ starts off well, but the euphoria fizzles out soon after.
The 3+ minutes long video of the song features a sleek Deepika Padukone in itsy bitsy beach wear, gyrating to the exotic Spanish beats of the song. While she looks lovely, no doubt, the real draw is Shah Rukh Khan, in a distinctly hunky avatar. King Khan shows off a toned and buffed bare torso to scorching effect in the number, raising the mercury by several degrees.
But that’s about it. ‘Besharam Rang’ doesn’t seem like a hummable number or a song that’ll grow on listeners. Overall, it is an average number.
Pathaan is a spy thriller that stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in crucial roles. The film is being directed by Siddharth Anand, who’s earlier directed Bachna Ae Haseenon, Ta Ra Rum Pum, Bang Bang, War, among others. Pathaan releases in theatres on January 25, 2023.
