Comicstaan Season 3 is now streaming on Prime Video. The stand-up comedy series is one of the foundation stones of Amazon Prime Video in India.
Renowned stand-up comedians of the present age judge new participants to announce the winner of perhaps the biggest stand-up comedy special in India. After a humongous response to the first two seasons, the third season is out just today.
Needless to say, the popularity of the previous seasons worked as a magnet for the audience. People have started to watch and react to the show.
Unfortunately, the responses are not something that Amazon Prime Video would have wanted. People are complaining about repetitive, clichéd jokes which seem boring.
Prime Video should introduce a ‘Skip Pavitra’ button, just for #Comicstaan season 3. It’ll be easier to skip the unfunny cringe.

This season's Comicstaan is soooo bad. The very first episode is super boring/unfunny. It's like comedians are not competing, they are learning what is comedy and trying it out on stage.#Comicstaan

Worst @comicstaan season imo !
Only PJ's nothing new to offer ..also contestants lack confidence i feel looked amateur on stage ..
Season 2 was best 💥#comicstaan

This pathetic condition reminds us of Netflix’s dare in the same league. If you remember then Comedy Premium League was released in August last year and was undoubtedly mental torture in the name of stand-up comedies.
So this question is not just about Comicstaan, but about the standing of Stand Up Comedy Shows in India as a whole.
Abhishek Upmanyu, Kenny Sebastian, and Veer Das are doing phenomenal on YouTube and live shows. Perhaps, the OTT platforms have a long way to go for coming close to the performances which people can watch on YouTube for free.
Because appreciating PJs on a screen and that too after paying a subscription fee is not something people would do.
