Marvel has an unparalleled reputation for protecting the secrets relating to the plot, cast, and other relevant details for its upcoming projects. After his character (Vision) was killed during the events of the blockbuster superhero film ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, even Paul Bettany – the actor who had portrayed the character might have thought that it was the end of his glorious role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Eventually, in a pleasant surprise, Paul Bettany returned to reprise his role in MCU’s sitcom styled television series ‘WandaVision’ co-starring Elizbeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff. It is mention-worthy that Paul Bettany’s tryst with MCU started off with the actor lending his voice as Jarvis in the ‘Iron Man’ movies followed by the 2012 ‘Avengers Assemble’ movie.
And now in a recent interview (via Deadline), when asked about his character in ‘WandaVision’, Bettany interestingly replied that “It was a beautiful culmination for all these things Lizzie and I have done together. We really found a lane for ourselves, and this was different in tone from those movies. But you never know with Marvel, whether you’re done, or not. So, I don’t want to call it the end yet. This was one of the most creative experiences of my life, joyful and free, making this show. To see it embraced by an audience the way it was, was so wonderful.”
(Minor Spoilers Ahead) And the diehard Marvel fans that we are, the words “You never know with Marvel” stuck with us. Whether Bettany was suggesting the return of his Vision or White Vision character is a matter of speculation. But Marvel enthusiasts and ardent lovers of comebacks might love to see a return of Vision to the MCU in some way or the other.
Interestingly, even in WandaVision’s finale, Bettany’s character had said “We’ll say hello again.” That had sparked the imagination of the audiences as to what these worlds precisely implied. Will Paul Bettany make an exciting comeback to the MCU world soon? (Minor Spoilers End)
Although there are no concrete plans for the second season of WandaVision, Kevin Fiege had himself not ruled out the idea. Sam Raimi’s ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ will ostensibly carry forward WandaVisions’s plot. So, let’s first see what that has in store for fans of Paul Bettany and WandaVision.
