The sci-fi thriller Telugu web series titled ‘Kudi Yedamaithe’ has recently started streaming on the Aha OTT platform. Helmed by Pawan Kumar (Director – U Turn, Lucia), the series has generally received positive feedback from Twitterati and is going good on word of mouth, despite a few inherent flaws (detailed in our own review).
Aha OTT platform, which was launched in March 2020 has carved a niche in Telugu content in the Indian OTT arena. The streaming service has been regularly churning out new and interesting content including several original movies and web series. Some of the recently released films were ‘Ardha Shathabdham’, ‘Thank You Brother’, ‘Y’, ‘Super Over’, and ‘Mail’. Besides films, Aha became home to shows such as ‘In the Name of God’, and ‘11th Hour’, amongst others.
However, none of the series could ostensibly be categorized as a genuine hit. However, with Aha’s latest offering ‘Kudi Yedamaithe’, and going by the early impressions, it seems that Aha OTT has cracked the hit series formula. And for achieving this feat, considerable credit should be given to the show’s director Pawan Kumar.
Pawan Kumar has given the Telugu audience a taste of high concept science fiction content that involves the ‘Time Loop’. It’s a concept that has previously been explored by many Hollywood filmmakers. It started with ‘Groundhog Day’ and was taken to another level of entertainment with brilliant films such as ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ and ‘Source Code’, to name a few.
But Pawan Kumar has executed a beautifully complex concept in his own way for Aha OTT platform and the result, like we said in our review, is ‘A Time Loop Thriller That Delivers’.
