The Mandalorian and The Last of Us fame Pedro Pascal will officially play Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic, in the MCU’s upcoming reboot of Fantastic Four. SAG-AFTRA confirmed this news.
According to SAG-AFTRA’s ‘Career Prospective’ section, Pedro Pascal will “soon begin production on Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four.” The forthcoming reboot project is all set to arrive in theatres globally in 2025.
It was reported in late 2023 that Pascal had been chosen for the role of “The Smartest Man on Earth” for MCU’s Fantastic Four. Apart from this project, the actor has also wrapped filming for Ridley Scott’s much-awaited Gladiator 2.
An official announcement about Pascal’s casting as MCU’s Reed Richards is yet to come out from either Disney or Marvel Studios. However, the recent update from SAG-AFTRA solidifies the actor’s presence in the upcoming Marvel project.
Pascal was seen in Freaky Tales, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Captain Marvel (2019) helming duo, Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, has directed the drama flick. Apart from Pascal, the film’s cast has talents like Ben Mendelsohn, Dominique Thorne, Jack Champion, the late Angus Cloud, and more.
Fantastic Four, starring Pedro Pascal, will open Phase Five of the MCU, setting up the groundwork for Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars. In addition to these large-scale projects, Phase Five also has Mahershala Ali’s Blade and Thunderbolts, starring Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, David Harbour, and more. Stay tuned for more updates.
