The dashing Chilean American actor Pedro Pascal and ‘Black Widow’ actor David Harbour, who had both found massive successes in the small screen medium with their respective shows ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Stranger Things’, are set to share screen space for an HBO series. The duo has reportedly (via Variety) been roped in to star in an upcoming true crime limited series titled ‘My Dentist’s Murder Trial’, which is currently in the works at HBO.
The true crime show is based on James Lasdun’s article ‘My Dentist’s Murder Trial: Adultery, false identities, and a lethal sedation’ which was published on the American weekly magazine The New Yorker in June 2017. (Article link attached below). Besides starring in the series, Pedro Pascal and David Harbour will also act as its executive producers.
As the title of the aforementioned article partially suggests, it tells the story of Dr. Gilberto Nunez, who was accused in 2015 for allegedly murdering his best friend Thomas Kolman by making him take a substance which caused his death. Moreover, the doctor was also accused of two forgery cases where he had purportedly posed as a CIA agent. Dr. Nunez was also having an affair with the deceased’s wife Linda. Pedro Pascal will play the role of Dr. Gilberto Nunez but the role details about David Harbour’s character are not clear yet.
Steven Conrad, who has previously lent his writing skills for the Will Smith starrer heartrending drama ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’ and Ben Stiller’s ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty’, has also penned the upcoming HBO series ‘My Dentist’s Murder Trial’ and will direct the opening episode of the show. Earlier, the filmmaker has also directed several films and television shows such as comedy thriller series ‘Patriot’, office comedy film ‘The Promotion’, and the neo-noir thriller show ‘Perpetual Grace, LTD’, etc.
Besides ‘My Dentist’s Murder Trial’, Pedro Pascal would next be seen in HBO’s highly anticipated adaptation of the superhit horror adventure PlayStation game ‘The Last of Us’ alongside his ‘Game of Thrones’ co-star Bella Ramsey. And David Harbour’s forthcoming acting projects include the dark thriller movie ‘Violent Night’ and Netflix’s family adventure film ‘We Have a Ghost’, amongst others.
