You must be aware that Superbowl streams on Disney+Hotstar in India. It is one of the most popular and expensive sports events in the world and its fans are spread all over the world. Also, it was a niche popular in India.
Regardless, the film industries have an immense impact due to the Superbowl. A show as mammoth as “The Last Of Us” changed its schedule, and DC Studios launched the teaser of The Flash. Films, and advertisements are customized for the Super Bowl and they all come out to be hugely popular.
The halftime of today’s match was highly interesting. It featured pop star Rihanna’s performance. Needless to say, she is a big name in the music industry and her fans are not scanty in India as well.
After a long long hiatus of many years, Rihanna finally returned to live performance. This yet again was a triggering factor for people to wait for her performance. Also, she announced her pregnancy following the musical performance.
But, the Indian mass missed it all. Thanks to Hotstar skipping halftime and moving straight to the game. This is not going well with the audience and they are angry with Hotstar for that. This might be a case of rights as Hotstar may not have the rights to Rihanna’s performance. But, they are gonna have a hard time if they attempt to make this understandable to their subscribers.
Fuck you @DisneyPlusHS @hotstar_helps . Woke up early to watch Rihanna perform at the superbowl. You fuckers skipped it and went straight to the game
