Sony’s 3D animation fantasy adventure comedy ‘Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway’ is finally streaming in India. The second part of the franchise, Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway released at the movies in the year 2021, 3 years after the release of Peter Rabbit (2018). The film is based on the stories of Peter Rabbit created by Beatrix Potter. James Corden reprises his role as the title character. The film is streaming in India on SonyLIV and more surprisingly in many Indian languages as well.
Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway is streaming in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali and Punjabi as well. This is some good news because the fans can now watch the film in their local languages without stressing too much over the subtitles.
The film follows Peter Rabbit where Thomas and Bea are now married and living with Peter and his rabbit family. Bored of life in the garden, Peter goes to the big city, where he meets shady characters and ends up creating chaos for the whole family.
The film theatrically released worldwide and US on June 11,2021 amidst Covid-19 pandemic caused delays. It grossed over $154 million worldwide and received mixed reviews from critics. The voice performances were praised but the deviations from the source material was met with criticism.
Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway is directed and produced by Will Gluck, who co-wrote the screenplay with Patrick Burleigh. The film also stars Rose Byrne, Domhnall Gleeson,David Oyelowo in live-action roles besides the voices of Elizabeth Debicki, Lennie James and Margot Robbie.
