If you’re reading this, we know you’re a Fleabag fan! Come on, who hasn’t obsessed over Amazon Prime’s Emmy winning series Fleabag and her hot-priest? Every single thing about the show was iconic. From Claire’s pencil-cut to god-mother’s cherry-picked statue, it’s all a major pop culture phenomenon. It’s been three years since a Phoebe Waller Bridge creation was missing from our lives.
Well the wait has been longer than ever but she is coming back to our screens. You heard that right! Prime Video has greenlit the new Waller-Bridge show, which will start shooting by the end of the year. However all the other details regarding the show has been kept under wraps.
Waller-Bridge had signed a three-year deal with Amazon Studios in September 2019. This is the first series created by her under this deal. The deal was following Fleabag Season two’s Emmy Awards Sweep that year. While Prime Video won six Prime time Emmys including Outstanding Comedy Series, Phoebe Waller Bridge won three for her writing and acting credits. Waller-Bridge also created BBC America’s acclaimed flagship drama series Killing Eve, while also writing it’s first season episodes. Killing Eve is currently airing it’s last and final season. She also appeared in and executive produced HBO romantic comedy series Run (2020) starring Merritt Wever and Domhnall Gleeson.
Previously, Waller-Bridge was attached to star opposite Donald Glover in the Mr&Mrs Smith series (a reboot of the Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie starer) under Amazon Studios, before she exit citing creative differences. Also sharing screenplay credits of the new James Bond film No Time to Die, Waller-Bridge is all set to appear in Disney/LucasFilm’s upcoming installment of Indiana Jones. We can’t contain our excitement for whatever our very own Fleabag has in store!
