Phoebe Waller Bridge‘s name needs no introduction. A streamer’s darling, multiple emmy Award winning actor and creator for shows like Fleabag and Killing Eve, Phoebe has re-written comedy formulae on streaming television. After being credited as the latest bond film No Time To Die dialogue writer, the actor is coming back to screens in the latest Indiana Jones film.
The makers revealed Phoebe Waller Bridge’s first look as Helena, a pivotal role in Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones 5 as a part of Empire’s exclusive Cover Story. They’ve previously revealed Harison Ford’s and the main antagonist Mads Mikkelsen’s character posters too. Phoebe’s Helena is none other than Henry Jones Jr’s goddaughter in this iconic adventure epic. Although more details regarding her role aren’t divulged yet, “She’s a mystery and a wonder,” Waller-Bridge told Empire.
The film follows Indiana “Indy” Jones, an American archaeologist and adventurer who lives against the backdrop of space race doubtful of the US government due to their recruitment of former World War II enemies to beat Soviet Union. Meanwhile, Voller Von Braun, an ex-nazi who is now a part of NASA team that’s involved in moon landing program.
The upcoming American action-adventure is directed by James Mangold, based on a script written by Mangold, Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth. The fifth installment of the Indiana Jones film series and sequel to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008), the film has de-aged Harrison Ford in the starting scenes. Harrison Ford reprises Indiana Jones, John Rhys-Davies returns as Sallah, with new cast members including Phoebe Waller Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, Toby Jones and Antonio Banderas. Steven Spielberg is involved in the film in the capacity of a producer.
