Phone Bhoot starring Katrina Kaif, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter has finally got their release date. Horror comedies as a genre were not popular in Bollywood before 2018’s superhit “Stree” starring Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor.
There were a few of them in the South Indian industry but in the mid-2010s, the horror genre was more or less dead after continuous rejection from the public. Regardless, Phone Bhoot might come as a tongue twister for those who have seen the era of phone booths. This is going to be a horror-comedy.
Siddhant Chaturvedi is a very promising actor who debuted in 2019’s highly successful film “Gully Boy”. After that, we have recently seen him in “Bunty Aur Babli 2” with Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee.
Ishaan Khatter is an extremely talented actor just like his elder brother Shahid Kapoor. His very first film was exceptionally great in terms of acting performance. But we are yet to see some more marvels by him.
Katrina on the other hand is going to act in a horror film for the first time. She has worked in some comedy films before though. It will be interesting to see what her character brings out in the film.
The direction will be carried out by Gurmeet Singh. He served as the assistant director in great projects like Jodha Akbar and also the famous web series Mirzapur.
The famous producer duo Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar will be producing the film.
As of now, the film is scheduled to release on 15th July 2022.
