It might seem crazy what we’re about to say, but Focus Features has dropped the official trailer of Pharrell Williams’ LEGO animated biopic, “Piece by Piece.” Williams has co-produced this project via his company I Am Other, along with The Lego Group and Tremolo Productions.
The new trailer opens with Williams’ LEGO version sitting for an interview and advising the director, Morgan Neville, to tell his life story with LEGO pieces. This makes Neville chuckle and ask Williams, “Seriously?” Pharell replies: “Just be open.”
“Piece by Piece” marks the non-documentary debut of director Morgan Neville, best known for helming critically acclaimed documentary projects, such as “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”, “They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead”, and “Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain.”
The idea for the film originated with Williams in early 2019. He then brought it to Neville, who joined the project’s development.
Apart from Pharrell Williams, the forthcoming LEGO movie has talents such as Kendrick Lamar, Gwen Stefani, Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, Jay-Z, Colin Clive, Snoop Dogg, and Busta Rhymes. Plus, Daft Punk will appear in the film.
Focus Features will take care of the domestic distribution rights of Pharrell Williams’ LEGO biopic “Piece by Piece”, with international distribution being handled by Universal. The movie will come out in theatres worldwide on October 11, 2024. Stay tuned for more updates. Check out the trailer below!
