Disney’s Pixar Studios is no stranger to collecting coveted awards for its impeccable storytelling. ‘Inside Out‘, therefore, was another Oscar-winning Pixar film that brought human emotions to life, back in 2016.
One of the highest-grossing animated movies of all time, ‘Inside Out’ revolves around eleven-year-old Riley and her five core emotions, Fear, Anger, Joy, Disgust, and Sadness, as they struggle to cope with her new life after relocating from Minnesota to San Francisco.
Its highly anticipated sequel ‘Inside Out 2’ will follow the now-teenager Riley as she learns to grapple with the transition from childhood to puberty. The plot follows her as she learns to deal with two new troublemaking emotions: envy and anxiety.
Well, we have some good news for fans!
The sequel hasn’t even hit theaters yet, and Pixar is already working up a new spin-off series set within the confines of Riley’s mind!
A new Disney+ exclusive series will follow ‘Dream Productions’, the movie studio inside Riley’s mind that makes up her dreams. However, the show does not currently have a release date.
Following several of their films struggling at the box office in 2023, Disney is going all in on sequels in an attempt to recover. This brings into perspective the upcoming ‘Moana 2’, a film that was originally intended to be a series; a fifth Toy Story film; and a new title in the ‘Finding Nemo’ universe. Pixar’s next project after ‘Inside Out 2’ will also be the sci-fi coming-of-age story, ‘Elio’!
