Much talked about Polish film ‘EO’ is finally streaming on Indian OTT from last evening. The film premiered on Prime Video India on subscription-based video-on-demand last night, and is available to watch in the original Polish language, along with subtitles in English.
EO has been winning hearts all around, ever since it premiered last year at Cannes 2022. The film won the Jury Prize at Cannes 2022, and the Best International Feature Film Award at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards, among a clutch of other awards. EO was also nominated for the Best International Feature Film Award at the Oscars 2023, but did not make it to the Top 5.
The Polish film is a heartwarming road drama movie, which follows the life of a donkey born in a Polish circus, and the good and bad times it faces on its journey of life. The title of the movie ‘EO’ is taken from the name of the donkey that is the primary protagonist in the film. Interestingly, six different donkeys portrayed EO, to depict the different stages of his life.
The official synopsis of ‘EO’ reads, “EO is a gray donkey with melancholy eyes, who encounters good and bad on his journey through life, experiences joy and pain, and endures the Wheel of Fortune”.
EO is directed by Jerzy Skolimowski, and is inspired by Robert Bresson’s 1966 film ‘Au Hasard Balthazar’. EO is now streaming on Prime Video India. Have a look at the trailer of the film –
