After the massive success of Mani Ponniyin Selvan 1, now is the time for the second part. You must be aware that the shooting of both parts was completed simultaneously and the second part was on hold only for editing and giving a gap between the two.
But as Mani Ratnam said, he was anyways ready for the second part of the film after 7-8 months of the first part.
So it is true and the release date of Ponniyin Selvan 2 is now out. The magnum opus is coming in theaters on the 28th of April next year.
The film was a massive success at the box office and OTT as well. During the early reviews, critics complained about too many characters in the film but it had little to no impact on people as they loved it anyways.
Those who have not read the original novel series are left with some big questions in the first part of the film. There are too many angles to be explored, and too many characters to mature and the film definitely has to reach a satisfying conclusion.
For all these things, the release date is nothing less than a new spark to the fans.
The film stars Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Shobhita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prakash Raj, and of course Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Thus better mark the 28th of April in your new calendar for Ponniyin Selvan 2.
