Continuing its streak of impressing the global audience, Manoj Bajpayee starrer ‘Joram’ has now earned its official selection at the esteemed Edinburgh International Film Festival 2023. Earlier, ‘Joram’ was among the selections at India’s Film Bazaar Recommends (FBR) and made its world premiere at the 52nd International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), 2023.
Helmed by Devashish Makhija, ‘Joram’ is a survival thriller about a displaced indigenous man named Dasru (Manoj Bajpayee). It is the story of a bereaved father who must be on the run with his little baby girl across half the country to escape the ghosts of his past and the forces that want him dead at any cost.
Makhija and Bajpayee have earlier delivered works like short film ‘Taandav’ and the highly acclaimed film ‘Bhonsle’ for which Bajpayee even won the National Award. Recently Manoj Bajpayee won hearts across nation with his exemplary performance in ‘Bandaa’ and going by the worldwide recognition and appreciation for ‘Joram’, it definitely seems like another masterpiece is on the way.
So far the pictures released from ‘Joram’ are heart wrenching and riveting and Manoj Bajpayee’s look in them raises the anticipation for the film even more.
Other than Manoj Bajpayee, ‘Joram’ stars an ensemble cast of Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, Abhishek Banerjee, Smita Tambe, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Rajshri Deshpande and Megha Mathur among others. The film is produced by Anupama Bose and Devashish Makhija for Makhija Film Pvt Ltd and Zee Studios.
