American actor Glen Powell has been pretty much everywhere lately. From the leading role in the comedy-horror series ‘Scream Queens’, to a supporting role in the superhit action film ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, and eventually a leading role in the romantic comedy ‘Anyone but You’, Powell has had a great year so far.
Moreover, he has a highly awaited slate of movies upcoming. One of them being Oscar-nominated director Richard Linklater’s latest comedy crime fiction ‘Hit Man’. Starring Powell and Guatemalan actress Adria Arjona as the lead duo, the film revolves around Gary Johnson, a nerdy part-time teacher who proclaims to be a hitman when in reality he works undercover for the police as a contract killer in sting operations.
The story, inspired by true events, premiered on Netflix today. Moreover, it has debuted with an extremely impressive, near perfect Rotten Tomatoes score: a whopping 98%!
Powell is being lauded for his genre-spanning performance by critics and the audience alike. So much so, that many have even termed Johnson his best role yet! The comedy-noir features about 175 Reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, all in favor of the movie. Many went so far ahead as to even call it the ‘best film of the year’!
However, this plethora of raving reviews has not come in exclusion to lukewarm and scathing ones as well.
Why don’t you watch and judge for yourselves?
