The makers of ‘Project K’ have just revealed the first look of lead actor Prabhas on social media this afternoon. Prabhas‘ first look comes ahead of Project K’s historic appearance at the San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) in America tomorrow.
For those who don’t know, Project K will become the first Indian film to make its debut at the eminent Comic Con event. The event is associated with the best and biggest names in Hollywood presenting their prestigious upcoming titles to the audience and the world. This year, however, the Comic Con to be held at San Diego will be quite subdued, given the twin strikes in Hollywood – the Writers Guild of America strike and the SAG-AFTRA strike.
Vyjayanthi Films, the makers of Project K, are expected to reveal the first teaser for the hotly anticipated film at the SDCC. Project K boasts a mouth-watering cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. The sci-fi film is written and directed by Nag Ashwin. It is slated to premiere in theatres on 12th January, 2024.
Coming back to the first look of Prabhas from Project K, all we can say is that the look is Indian creativity touching its lowest point of recent times. For one, Prabhas’ first look is miles away from what fans expected it to be. In fact, Prabhas’ first look in Project K is a clear mockery of fans’ expectations.
The image is bland, generic and utterly uninspiring. Prabhas’ face looks like it has been photo-shopped onto a pre-designed template of a man wearing a futuristic suit. His hair looks as if he’s walked straight out of one of the shoots of Adipurush, into the photo shoot for Project K, complete with long messy hair and top knot.
But the worst part of the Prabhas first look from Project K is that the image is a straight out lift of Robert Downey Jr’s look in the poster of Ironman 3. The copy is all too clear and blatant enough for even a novice to recognise it instantly.
Whatever in the world were Vyjayanthi Films even thinking to design such an outright pathetic first poster! With a star cast like that, and audience interest at an all time high, the least one would expect from the makers of Project K is to commission exceptionally-designed posters, badass enough to cash in on the hype surrounding the Prabhas movie.
With a woefully mediocre poster as this, Vyajanthi Films has effectively killed all the hype, at least for now. Even Deepika Padukone’s first look from Project K, released earlier this week, was not up to the mark.
It’s high time Project K makers chuck out their present poster designer and hire a new one. Or the film will die a painful death, much like Indian creativity did, with Project K Prabhas first look poster!
