Prabhas & Shruti Haasan Resume Shoot For Action Thriller ‘Salaar’

The second schedule of Prashanth Neel directorial ‘Salaar‘, starring Prabhas and Shruti Haasan, has resumed in Hyderabad. While Shruti started shooting yesterday, actor Prabhas, having completed ‘Radhe Shyam’, resumes shoot from today for what will be his 23rd film. Filming, for the movie announced last year, had begun in January 2021, with it being simultaneously made in Kannada and Telegu, though it will also be dubbed in Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, the project marks Prabhas’ Kannada debut and also features Madhu Guruswamy in a pivotal role.

The ‘KGF’-fame director’s thriller has been the talk of the town right since its inception and first look’s release last December. ‘Salaar’ marks the first association of Prabhas with director Prashanth as well as leading lady Shruti Haasan. Reportedly, Prabhas will essay a dual role, that of a young mechanic and an aged man for the first time in his career. While announcing the film last year, Prabhas had said that Salaar is a territory unexplored. The ‘Baahubali’ actor will be in a never-seen-before avatar, playing a violent character. “This is a very exciting film and my character is extremely violent, so this is something I haven’t really done before. It’s a pan-Indian film and I can’t wait to be on the sets already,” the 41-year-old actor had earlier said in a statement. Sources suggest that the film is going to be a complete treat for fans of the actor and mass film lovers alike.

On her experience of working with Prabhas, Shruti said, “You know what’s lovely about him is, there is so much energy around him and excitement. He is genuinely down to earth. I have seen fake humility and fake down to earthiness, and I’m like ‘it is really nice you are behaving this yourself but that isn’t really you.’ I think we all have seen that, especially in the work environment… but the thing is, he is really down to earth and chill, which is refreshing. She further added, “I’m sure he is aware of his stardom and position, but never makes you feel so and that is really very pleasant. It is wonderful to work within that energy. The whole team of Salaar, the director and everyone on the sets has good vibe.”

Meanwhile on the work front, the actress who was last seen in 2021’s ‘Vakeel Saab’, the Telegu remake of Bollywood film ‘Pink’, also has Late S.P. Jananathan’s political thriller ‘Laabam’ with Vijay Sethupathi, in the post production stage. As for Prabhas, he is also occupied with the shooting of his upcoming big-budget films. He has already started shooting for Om Raut’s ‘Adipurush’ and will be juggling between the sets of both films post this schedule. He is also set to jump on to director Nag Ashwin’s next.

The much-anticipated ‘Salaar’ is reportedly being made on a budget of a whopping 150 crores and will release in theatres on 14th April, 2022.
