The current situation pertaining to Covid outbreak is not all that convincing for Tollywood’s big-ticket pan-India outings, Radhe Shyam and RRR. For now, let’s talk about Radhe Shyam, which has been in the making for over 3 years now. After multiple postponements, the makers announced that the film will be arriving in theatres on the 14th of January. But with the Covid outbreak threat increasing by the day, there are several rumors the mode of the film’s release. It is also heard that Radhe Shyam might be arriving directly on OTT and the makers are in talks with ZEE5 and Netflix as they wish to orchestrate a direct to OTT release for the film.
But the insider talk is that the makers of Radhe Shyam are determined to release the film in theatres on the 14th of January no matter what. They aren’t all that worried about the North Indian theatrical belt. They are aware of the fact that the situation is particularly bad in Maharashtra and Delhi but stepping back on release isn’t an option anymore.
Prabhas is one of the biggest superstars in Indian cinema now, if not the biggest. Radhe Shyam is expected to bank on Prabhas’s superstardom and get off to a flying start when it arrives in theatres. The makers of the love drama are confident of the same.
“The producers of Radhe Shyam want to release the film in theatres on 14th January. They are even planning for the worst outcome, even if it means the film will be screened in theatres for a week and then be released on OTT. A theatrical release is for certain. If things go haywire, an early OTT release is very much possible,” a source close to UV Creations, the makers of Radhe Shyam says.
So, Radhe Shyam will most certainly not be arriving directly on OTT. It will definitely be released in theatres first. As for early OTT release, it is subject to the gravity of the situation at that particular point in time.
