JioHotstar can sing praises for itself all it wants, but the fact remains — and, surprisingly, hasn’t changed even after all this time — that it’s still unable to tackle and provide solutions to users’ complaints. Recently, Jay Shah praised the streaming service, along with the Star Sports India network, for their broadcast of the ICC Test Championship 2025 final between South Africa and Australia.
However, we all wonder — does such a highly prominent streaming service like JioHotstar truly deserve this praise? Especially when complaints from users are growing at an alarming rate?
Just like during the first Test match between England and India, the streaming quality provided by JioHotstar for the second ongoing Test match between these two great cricketing nations has once again come under fire from users. This time, the scenario is new, and to be honest, quite interesting.
Some users have shared screenshots from the ongoing India vs England Test series, pointing out that the platform has removed 4K video quality for the series, which is honestly quite disappointing.

The recurrence of these technical issues suggests a systemic problem rather than isolated mishaps. While Jay Shah may applaud the broadcasting efforts, the actual user experience tells a different story.
The accumulation of unresolved complaints could seriously impact JioHotstar. Users paying for a premium service expect quality and reliability. Yet, the platform seems to have done little in recent months to fix these ongoing issues.
It seems the “biggest streaming giant” has a flair for the dramatically understated, where even basic functionality turns into a grand, unpredictable adventure. One can only hope these “minor” inconveniences don’t diminish the platform’s well-deserved praise. After all, who needs a consistently working product when you’ve got a good marketing team, right?
