Many Amazon users were lured by a tempting offer this Prime Day where Prime membership was at a slashed price of ₹749 or ₹999, depending on the plan. The offer came at just the right time, especially since the platform had hiked its prices only last month.
But the discount seems to vanish the moment you try to claim it.
Several users have reported that while they were shown lower prices on banners and promo pages, the second they moved to the payment step, the price bounced right back to ₹1,499. No warning, no clarification. It is a quiet switch that leaves users confused and frustrated.
If enough people are facing the same issue, then it’s more than just a glitch. It begins to feel like a bait-and-switch tactic, whether intended or not. A discount isn’t really a discount if no one can actually use it.
Yes, Prime Video is promising to resolve it, but what about so many people who left midway due to the glitch?
Prime Video, and by extension, Amazon, needs to step up here. If you promise a deal, make it accessible. Don’t bury it under hidden terms, complicated eligibility rules, or last-minute glitches that kill the joy of the offer.
Hey @PrimeVideoIN I tried to renew my subscription with offer but when open the payments page that 749rs isn't available anywhere. I have to renew with that plan only. Help me out …. pic.twitter.com/wT8caTgbyM
