Prime Video India has today announced the starts of filming of its upcoming original film ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ starring Sara Ali Khan in lead. Helmed by Kannan Iyer, ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ will premiere soon only on Prime Video.
The shoot commencement announcement came with an intriguing first glimpse from the film. Set in 1942, Bombay, Sara, in a white cotton saree, is seen closing the doors and curtains before setting up her radio station. She then goes live and talks about how Britishers are wrong to think that they have succeeded by quashing the Quit India Movement and the voices for freedom will not remain silent. And soon we hear loud banging on the door.
Inspired by true event, ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ is a a thriller drama about an unsung hero, a young woman, who played a very important role in Indian independence movement. Directed by Kannan Iyer who has written the film alongside Darab Farooqui, ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ stars Sara Ali Khan, Richard Bhakti Klein and Alexa O’Nell among others.
A Dharmatic Entertainment production, ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ is produced by Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta. Somen Mishra serves as the co-producer for the film. ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ will premiere soon only on Prime Video.
