AP Dhillon: First Of A Kind
Analysis:
Like always, Prime Video India once more Ignores the demands for more original movies and delivers countless licensed titles. Only few of them are buzzy, and even among them are disasters like Adipurush. There are, however, a good count of regional movies: Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and even Marathi. Movies like Neelavelicham, Santhosham, Aachar & Co. and Amala are pretty well rated and appreciated by audiences. They found pretty good engagement on the platform this month. Shivakarthikeyan’s ‘Maaveeran’ was a massive success in multiple languages. The movie, despite being a licensed one, tasted of some well deserved success. Satya Prem Ki Katha, too, was decent.
But the most significant success was of the only original show of this month: Made In Heaven season 2. Fans had been waiting for the second season of this acclaimed show for a long time and it was an instant success with multiple controversies as well. The original event show, ‘AP Dhillon: First Of A Kind’ too found a decent view count this month. But Prime Video should have focused more on original movies this month, as the list is completely blank this time.
The performance of the platform can be rated as a 6 out of 10 for August.
