For months the buzz about Varun Dhawan headlining the multi-franchise series Citadel was high. Now, Prime Video has confirmed the news just the way it was buzzing. The series directed by Raj & DK was also buzzing to star Samantha Ruth Prabhu but the confirmation of her presence in the show is skeptical as of now.
Varun Dhawan joins the franchise with his USA counterpart Richard Madden. Also to add some more desi flavor, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, will also star in the U.S. series, which will be the first to launch and is set to premiere next year.
The first series comes from the Russo Bros and David Weil and also features Stanley Tucci.
Meanwhile, that is not all, the Italian part of the show is also going on with Matilda De Angelis.
The series is produced by Raj & DK’s very own D2R Films, and Amazon Studios. Although it will be a part of the Citadel universe, it WON’T be titled Citadel. The title of the Indian original is yet to be announced.
Regardless, the shooting of the series will start in January next year so it may arrive sometime in late 2023 or early 2024 at max.
