Nicole Kidman is once again coming to rock your screens with her upcoming thriller, Holland, which also stars the likes of Gael Garcia Bernal and Matthew Macfadyen. The project hails from Fresh helmer Mimi Cave, and stars Kidman as a teacher in the titular mysterious town. She finds something odd about the town and believes that her husband is hiding something important from her.
Kidman’s last project was also a thriller, an erotic one, Babygirl, which turned out to be a strong commercial success, earning over $62 million against its $20 million budget. Barnal’s most prominent project is MCU’s Werewolf by the Night special, whereas Macfadyen has played key roles in MCU’s Deadpool & Wolverine and HBO’s Succession.
Leading up to its premiere at South by Southwest, Prime Video has released the official trailer for Holland. The trailer starts with Kidman, who plays a teacher in the seemingly perfect town of Holland (which resembles the Netherlands), introducing the community where her husband is the preacher.
The idyllic atmosphere shifts to suspense when her husband departs on a business trip. This prompts her and Dave (played by Bernal) to team up and investigate something mysterious related to the town itself, as hinted in the trailer.
The trailer for Holland looks cryptic but gives us enough about what to expect from the movie. It clearly shows that Macfadyen’s character is the real manipulator and the bad guy.
The rest of the cast has talents like Jude Hill, Lennon Parham, Rachel Sennott, Isaac Krasner, Jeff Pope, and more. It will come out on Prime Video on March 27. Stay tuned for more updates.
