Prime Video has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the dear departed Kannada superstar, Puneeth Rajkumar. The streaming giant has hosted several films of PRK Productions, late Puneeth Rajkumar’s film production studio, for release on Prime Video. It remained the first choice for the prolific filmmaker to release his films straight to digital or after an exclusive run at the theatres. It is now time for Prime Video to honour the memory of the late star, whose untimely death left his fans in a state of shock.
Prime Video has announced that three Kannada films from Puneeth Rajkumar’s PRK Productions will skip theatres to premiere directly on the service. The three Kannada films are ‘Man of the Match’, ‘One Cut Two Cut’ and ‘Family Pack’.
Paying a humble tribute to the legend, Prime Video will also make five of his most memorable movies— Law, French Biryani, Kavaludaari, Mayabazaar & Yuvarathnaa, available to watch for free, even for non-Prime members, for one month, starting from February 1. Making these five movies free-to-stream worldwide on the service for anyone who has an Amazon account is a modest attempt to allow wider audiences and fans to pay their love and respect to the legend.
It also allows Prime Video to honour the cinematic legacy of the departed filmmaker. The three-film announcement is an ode to the craft and legacy of the late actor and filmmaker whose contribution to cinema stands unmatched.
