Half of the year 2024 is now gone. It has been a great year for cinephiles so far and we have got many masterpieces in movies as well as in Television. Prime Video is one of the most subscribed platforms in India and has produced many interesting projects this year. Here is a list of the original movies and shows that came out in Prime Video this year, some licensed movies are included as well.

Analysis:
Prime Video has not excelled in the format of original movies like Netflix and other platforms, but it has done so in original shows. In 2024, Prime Video has done some extension in the regional content slate. Shows like ‘Poacher’, ‘Bujji And Bhairava’, ‘Inspector Rishi’ have impressed audiences. Hindi shows ‘Dil Dosti Dilemma’, ‘Indian Police Force’ have reached a huge audience but did not impress critics that much. ‘Panchayat Season 3’ was a huge blast and was appreciated by audiences and critics equally. There were no significant original movies except for ‘Sharmajee Ki Beti’, but Dharma’s ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ was an ambitious project too and had attracted a decent amount of viewers. There were some Partnered Shows With Amazon MiniTV that gathered some views but did not do well critically. In the huge list of licensed movies, there are few significant ones. ‘Sapta Saagaradaache Ello-Side B’, ‘Joram’, ‘Madgaon Express’, ‘Kaathal: The Core’ were the exceptional ones and were liked by audiences and critics alike. Madgaon Express gathered huge views whereas Joram set up high standards for arthouse filmmaking.
There were some licensed documentaries too, among them the most significant one is ‘WOMB: Women of My Billion’. The rest of the content slate did not work out very well and the platform definitely has to work more on the format of original films. The performance of original shows is fine and the platform should keep up the good work with that. The rating we can give for the overall performance of Amazon Prime Video For The first half of 2024 is a 5 out of 10.
