The age of the internet changed the mode of entertainment forever, with Netflix replacing trusted DVDs and physical copies. However, internet accessibility is not always guaranteed, so OTT giants needed to tackle this issue.
What did they do?
The platforms introduced offline downloads, allowing users to access downloaded content without an internet connection. Platforms like Netflix and Hotstar have excelled in this field, but there is one devil in that race.
Prime Video made a mockery of the system. Though it’s not a new complaint from fans, they show no signs of fixing this issue, and fans are still raising their voices.
It’s not like they are preventing piracy with this; by no means can it do so. Besides these, there is no probable cause for this level of inconvenience.
As soon as you download content on Prime Video and attempt to watch it without an internet connection, the app will show that the device is offline, which is absolutely absurd. This issue is exclusive to one of the big players in the OTT game and can affect the platform in the long run.
This problem affects not just regular content but also VOD. Even if you pay for content with a very high price tag and then go offline, Prime Video still won’t let you watch it offline.
Now, an article won’t change anything, neither will a thousand tweets. But what Prime Video is doing is a proper injustice, and fans aren’t getting their money’s worth. It’s absurd, absolutely absurd.
So, the best advice is, if you prefer to download some licensed film, go and get a physical copy.

Amazon or Kindle, I own that book, as the cloud is too easily hacked, I very much prefer having the PDF when possible kept on a back up hard drive, maybe you could go back to allowing those who pay good money, to be able to keep what they owned somewhere safe, offline
