Amazon Prime Video in association with All3Media International has announced the launch of Indian adaptation of BAFTA and Emmy winning reality show ‘The Traitors’. Filmmaker Karan Johar has been roped in to host the show that is now in production.
An unscripted series, ‘The Traitors’ has 20 contestants housed together in a royal palace and they compete for a cash prize by participating in various physical and psychological challenges. Some of them are secretly designated as “traitors” and they must oust the “innocents” without blowing their cover.
Based on a format created and developed by IDTV and RTL Netherlands, the Indian adaptation of ‘The Traitors’ is produced by BBC Studios India Productions and will stream only on Prime Video in Hindi with English subtitles.
‘The Traitors’ was launched in 2021 in Netherlands for the first time and has since been adapted in over 20 countries. There are some 30 versions of the show commissioned globally.
Prime Video is yet to unveil the contestants and release date for the Indian adaptation of ‘The Traitors’, until then stay tuned to binged.com for further updates!
