Prime Video India announced Madhuri Dixit’s latest OTT film ‘Maja Ma’ yesterday and today we have the Dhak Dhak fame grooving to a garba song from the film. Helmed by Anand Tiwari, ‘Maja Ma’ will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on 6th October, 2022.
The usual list of agendas for a film promotion include poster or motion poster reveals, teaser followed by trailer and then songs. But for Amazon Original movie ‘Maja Ma’, Prime Video seems to be taking an unconventional marketing route.
The digital platform has unveiled ‘Boom Padi’ song from the film that it claims to be the garba anthem of the year. In the video, Madhuri Dixit can be seen grooving graciously to the beats along side other cast members Ritvik Bhowmik, Barkha Singh and Srishti Shrivastava during a garba event.
The energetic yet melodious music of ‘Boom Padi’ from ‘Maja Ma’ hits just the right cords for a garba song. It also reminds of Madhuri Dixit’s previous performances from her songs like ‘Aaja Nachle’ and ‘Ghaghra’ (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’).
Releasing the garba song before any motion poster, teaser or trailer isn’t just any random move. Rather it’s a smart one from team ‘Maja Ma’ and Prime Video as it gives them ample time to promote the film through the song before Navratri begins on 26th September.
‘Boom Padi’ from ‘Maja Ma’ is composed by Souumil Shringarpure and Siddharth Mahadevan. Shreya Ghoshal and Osman Mir have lent their voice for the song which has lyrics penned by Priya Saraiya.
‘Maja Ma’ is an Amazon Original movie directed by Anand Tiwari and written by Sumit Batheja. It is a warm, funny story set in Baroda about a loving mother who unwittingly becomes a hurdle to her son’s marriage plans and contests societal norms.
The film marks Madhuri Dixit’s second OTT project after ’Fame Game’ on Netflix that was quite a success. The film also stars Ritvik Bhowmik (‘Bandish Bandits’, ‘Modern Love Mumbai’), Barkha Singh (‘Engineering Girls’, ‘Silence… Can You Hear It?’), Srishti Shrivastava (‘Ok Jaanu’, ‘Gully Boy’, Gulabo Sitabo’), Gajraj Rao (‘Badhaai Ho’, ‘Lootcase’), Rajit Kapur (‘Rocket Boys’, ‘Nail Polish’), Sheeba Chadha (‘Mirzapur’, ‘Badhaai Ho’), Simone Singh and Ninad Kamat among others.
