Analysis:
It has been a great month for Amazon Prime Video and the credit goes to the much anticipated third season of TVF’s ‘Panchayat’. Panchayat has gathered huge views in very few days and fans are still in a trance. The ‘Kalki 2898AD’ prequel series titled ‘Bujji & Bhairava’ also streamed on Prime in May and it is getting much appreciation from critics and audiences. There were, however, no original films in the list and like always a long list of licensed films, most of them insignificant. There are some titles that made some noise and got decent views and ratings from audiences. The Kannada film ‘Blink’, Kunal Khemu’s directorial debut ‘Madgaon Express’, ‘Maidaan’, ‘O. Baby’ and ‘Oru Nodi’ are some of them. The 2021 documentary ‘WOMB: Women of My Billion’ too was accepted with love. There were some partnered shows with Amazon MiniTV that managed to gather views as well. But apart from the two original shows, ‘Panchayat S3’ and ‘Bujji And Bhairava’, the performance of the platform was rather average. All We can rate the performance of Prime Video for May is 5 out of 10.
