Prime Video‘s love-themed anthology series ‘Modern Love’ is a blockbuster hit for the platform. The streamer recently released the season 2 of ‘Modern Love‘, which was well-received too. Now, there’s news that the content giant has ordered an Indian Original anthology show along the lines of ‘Modern Love’. The Indian show will follow the template of the original, with six episodes centred on six different heartwarming stories of love and loving.
As per reports in the media, Prime Video has also got a stellar bunch of filmmakers on board to develop the Indian version of the love-themed anthology. The six directors are reportedly the best in Hindi cinema at present. They are Vishal Bhardwaj, Hansal Mehta, Alankrita Shrivastava, Shonali Bose (of The Sky Is Pink fame), Anjali Menon (who has earlier made Bangalore Days), and Dhruv Sehgal (of the very popular Little Things). The filmmakers will direct six unique stories on the evergreen theme of love. The stories will touch upon different aspects of love in all their glory.
The Prime Video Indian anthology is being produced by Rangita Pritish Nandy of Pritish Nandy Communications. Rangita Nandy has created the hit show, ‘Four More Shots Please!’ for Prime Video. The cast for the show is yet to come on board. Given the pedigree of the filmmakers, it is a given that the primary cast of the series will be equally high-profile and talented.
‘Modern Love’ boasted names such as Dev Patel, Anne Hathaway, Tina Fey, Andy García, Andrew Scott, Julia Garner, Ed Sheeran, Olivia Cooke, among others, in the first season; and Kit Harington, Dominique Fishback, Zoë Chao, Minnie Driver, Tom Burke, and many other stellar actors in the second season of the show.
