Change is the only constant and Prime Video is just embracing the philosophy.
How so?
We all know that the UI of Prime Video needs big-time improvement. Their search engine sucks and the lack of good recommendations is felt strongly. More than that, it is behind its competitors in many ways.
To curb that, Amazon has introduced exciting new AI features in its Movies and TV Shows sections. One standout feature is the “Made for you” recommendations, which essentially offer personalized content suggestions.
Additionally, Amazon has implemented synopses for shows and movies. This will provide concise, AI-generated blurbs that speed up the browsing process by quickly giving users an overview of the content. The key motive behind all these changes boils down to the increase in streaming time rather than browsing time.
The user interface (UI) has also received significant visual improvements. Updated animations, faster page transitions, and zoom effects are now part of the experience.
Amazon says that the new AI has already started rolling and will be available in all regions in the upcoming few weeks. We hope that the changes are not merely visual and also show improvement in the other aspects of the overall experience at Prime Video. Let’s see how it turns out to be.
