Normally when a film is landed on OTT even after a theatrical release then OTT platforms market it properly. It really boosts the hype for the movie and helps it gain much more viewership. This was very much prominent in the case of Shyam Singha Roy that became a huge hit on Netflix climbing up to 3rd most-watched non-English film in the week of its release.
On the other hand, Prime Video is not so great when it comes to marketing its films. We discussed it during Gehraiyaan and also about recently released Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah’s Jalsa.
But recently Prime Video released Neyyattinkara Gopante Aaraattu. Yesterday only they released this Mohanlal starrer which was a highly buzzy title when it was up for its theatrical release.
It is insane that Prime Video didn’t post any tweet regarding this film and our source of information was the Amazon Helps tweet which confirmed the release date of the film.
Talking about the main account of Amazon Prime Video then there was no update whatsoever regarding the film but finally, it is streaming on the platform.
Talking about the app then there as well they are not flashing the film on the home screen. It looks as if Aaraattu was more of a sour gulp for Prime Video than a film.
The reasons behind this remain mysterious.
