Prithviraj Sukumaran’s recently released Malayalam action drama film ‘Kaduva’ is mostly done with its theatrical window post the 7th July release and is now heading for its OTT debut. Helmed by Shaji Kailas, ‘Kaduva’ will premiere on Prime Video India on 4th August, 2022 but fans don’t seem very satisfied with the news.
While they are happy with the release date announcement almost everyone has one similar relevant question to raise to Prime Video. That’s because as of now ‘Kaduva’ will release only in Malayalam on the platform with no update on other language versions such as Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. With no official response for the same looks like viewers will have to wait longer to catch the film in other languages on digital media.
Upon its release in theatres ‘Kaduva’ received a mixed response from the audience and critics. The film was able to perform well at the box office and with a collection of over ₹40 crore it became one of the highest grossing Malayalam films of the year.
Set in the late 90s ‘Kaduva’ revolves around the life of a young high range rubber planter from Mundakayam and his rivalry with a high ranking officer in the Kerala Police. In addition to Prithviraj Sukumaran the film stars Vivek Oberoi, Samyuktha Menon and Kalabhavan Shajin in lead roles.
‘Kaduva’ is written by Jinu V. Abraham with cinematography from Abinandhan Ramanujam and editing by Shameer Muhammed. Jakes Bijoy has composed music for the film.
Jointly produced by Supriya Menon and Listin Stephen through their Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames respectively, ‘Kaduva’ is all set to for its digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video India on Malayalam on 4th August, 2022.
