Prime Day will soon be back, bringing with it loads of exciting deals and offers on thousands of products on the e-commerce market leader, Amazon Prime. Not just shopping aficionados, Prime Day will also bring exciting offers for Amazon Prime subscribers on Prime Video, the streaming arm of the conglomerate. For those who don’t know, Prime Day is slated to take place on 23rd and 24th July, all over the world.
Apart from alluring discounts on subscriptions for Prime Video channels, the streamer has lined up exciting premieres of two much-awaited Indian films, both of which will arrive on Prime Video on July 24. Both films have done excellent business in the theatres, and are still going strong at the box office. Post their theatrical run, both films will now premiere on Prime Video on Prime Day, to add to the fun.
The first of the films is the exclusive streaming premiere of the Punjabi comedy film Sher Bagga. Directed by Jagdeep Sidhu, the film stars Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa in lead roles. The movie follows Shera (Ammy), on a journey to find the love of his life, who meets Gulab (Sonam). Both get together but Gulab ends up pregnant. While she is unsure about bearing the child, Shera wants to become a father and this creates a tight spot for the unlikely couple. Sher Bagga premieres on Prime Video on July 24, 2022.
The other buzzy film to have its OTT release on Prime Video on Prime Day is Dharma Movies’ successful film, ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo‘. Karan Johar’s film stars Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani in lead roles, and is directed by Raj Mehta (of Good Newwz fame). The film deals with the sensitive topic of divorce and marriages where couples fall out of love due to diverse reasons. Jug Jugg Jeeyo released in theatres on June 24, and will now hit Prime Video on July 24, exactly a month after its theatrical release.
Jug Jugg Jeeyo will be the first Dharma Movies film to release on Prime Video as part of the 3-film deal inked between Prime Video and Dharma Productions.
